How BrainiWord works
Guess the daily five-letter English word in five attempts. After each guess, green means the letter is in the correct position, yellow means the letter appears elsewhere in the word, and dark grey means there is no remaining copy of that letter to match. You can play with your physical keyboard or the on-screen keyboard.
Use each guess to narrow the possibilities
BrainiWord gives you five attempts at a five-letter English word. Green confirms a letter in that position. Yellow means a letter is present elsewhere. Dark grey means that occurrence does not match an available letter in the answer. See how repeated letters work: one coloured occurrence does not mean every repeated copy is needed.
Worked example: a fictional answer
If the teaching answer were PLANT and you guessed TRAIN, T, A and N are present in different positions, while R and I are absent. A useful next guess would move the known letters and test new possibilities. This example is independent of the daily answer and is here to explain how to use the feedback.
Make the next run more useful
Do not repeatedly test a letter in a position already ruled out. Keep track of known positions, then think about valid words that satisfy them. You can use the on-screen keyboard or a physical keyboard. If a common valid English word is rejected, send it through Suggestions so the dictionary entry can be reviewed.
