How Survival works

Start with three lives. Questions move from Easy to Medium and Hard. Every wrong answer removes one life; consecutive correct answers build a scoring bonus.

Survival and the Daily

Survival is currently a Play Anytime game rather than part of the rotating Daily pool.

  • 3 lives
  • Up to 30 questions
  • Difficulty rises during the run

Protect your lives as difficulty rises

Survival gives you three lives and a run of up to thirty questions. A wrong answer removes a life, so a fast guess can cost more than a short pause. Use the early questions to settle into a rhythm, then slow down when the wording or topic becomes less familiar.

Worked example: eliminate an impossible option

If a question asks for a prime number and the choices are 8, 9, 11 and 15, three options can be eliminated by finding a divisor other than 1 and themselves. Only 11 remains. You do not need to know every answer immediately if you can rule out the alternatives for sound reasons.

Make the next run more useful

A correct streak adds a scoring bonus, but protecting the next life is still useful when you are uncertain. Read the feedback to understand a missed answer before continuing. After the run, choose a topic quiz for the subjects that ended your streak. Survival is an Anytime game and does not count towards the Daily Brain Score or Daily streak.

This guide uses separate teaching examples. Report a question or suggest a correction with the game name and the wording you saw.
