About this World Flags Quiz

Choose a difficulty for a 20-question run. Each answer includes feedback, and a complete review is available when you finish. Use the guide below to practise the topic before you start.

Read the structure of a flag

Start with its layout before focusing on colours. Are the bands horizontal or vertical? Is there a cross, a triangle or an emblem? Next compare the order of the colours and the position of the symbol. Two flags can use the same colours but arrange them differently, so colour alone is often not enough.

Practice a description before looking at the choices

For a fictional flag with three equal horizontal bands, describe it as “top, middle, bottom” and name each colour in order. If a star is present, note whether it is centred or near the hoist. This habit forces you to notice the distinguishing feature instead of choosing the first familiar country. The practice description is not an answer to the live question.

Make the next run more useful

BrainiLab’s flag questions use the flag shown with the question. On some devices flags appear as emoji and their appearance depends on the operating system. If a flag is missing or displays as letters, try another browser and report the device and question. After the quiz, revisit similar flags together and write down the one detail that distinguishes each pair.

This guide uses separate teaching examples. Report a question or suggest a correction with the game name and the wording you saw.
