About this Science Quiz

Choose a difficulty for a 20-question run. Each answer includes feedback, and a complete review is available when you finish. Use the guide below to practise the topic before you start.

Think about the kind of scientific fact being asked

This quiz mixes living things, matter, motion and space. Look for the scale of the question: a cell, an organism, a planet and a star are very different kinds of objects. Units are useful clues too. A distance is not a speed, and a mass is not a temperature. Check the wording before choosing an answer that merely sounds familiar.

Worked example: our nearest star

The nearest star to Earth is the Sun. It may look different from the points of light in the night sky because it is much closer, not because it belongs to a different class of object. A planet or moon can look bright by reflecting sunlight; that does not make it a star. NASA’s guide to the Sun gives more context.

Make the next run more useful

Use the answer feedback to identify the underlying concept. If two choices were confusing, write down how they differ: for example, an object versus a unit used to measure it. Easy is a useful starting point for basic terms; Medium and Hard let you test more specific knowledge. The examples in this guide are separate from the questions selected for your run.

This guide uses separate teaching examples. Report a question or suggest a correction with the game name and the wording you saw.
